I thought this was an interesting article considering the trouble I got into over in the comment section at Lex's once upon a time.
I'm just saying ...
UPDATE: In the interests of fairness, Lex had some interesting follow up thoughts on the subject. Way back in the way back.

I went back to those old posts at Lex's and the image it brought to my mind was you poking a few people with a stick. Lively there for a while, it was. :-)
I think the article you linked to here reflects more on the current economic and political situations in our respective countries. Polls are always suspect since there are too many ways to preordain the outcomes, unintentional or otherwise. Canada seems to have avoided the level of stupidity our current "leadership" has been exhibiting which I think is reflected in the polls regarding both countries. The real news to me is how poor a self image Britain seems to have of itself these days.
Ah, the good ol' days. BTW, I think Toby would probably agree with everything on the poster--except the last 3 words. But perhaps I think him better mannered just because he's a country star?
I miss Lex...one day, I'll have time and/or brains enough to go back.
Pogue, lively indeed! Seriously, though, easy enough for me to chuckle about now but at the time ... I will admit to more than a few hurt feelings. I recall feeling I was the one being poked at although I reckon it could have came across a different way. I, too, was surprised at the negativity among the Brits, though. But I see they still like their health care. (Now that, right there, that a poke! :)
Doorkeeper ... country, bah! And I don't care what country we're talking about. LOL
I'm sad to say that I don't spend any way near as much time at Lex's as I used to - I'm lucky now to drop by once a week or so and do a quick catch up skim through. Usually don't even read the comments (let alone comment myself!) unless the post really grabs me. Unlike the good old days when I would check in at least 3 ofr 4 times a day. Talk about being addicted to crack cocaine :D
Yeah, there were a few people there that were a bit over the top. I'm not sure why, as that isn't typical of the commenters over there. Of course, that was before you came over to the dark side and became our northern conservative... :p
LOL
One of the comments I ended up liking was (Chap, I think) something to the effect of you're not family even though we hang out a lot. I think of that now because I hang out there so much less lately. Kind of miss it...
